OUR PHILOSOPHY
Call us crazy, but we actually believe this is a customer service industry. You're making an investment in your career and in yourself. We want you to be thrilled with the outcome. We definitely have our style and plenty of ideas to bring to the table, but we will always encourage a collaborative atmosphere. We want you to be relaxed, comfortable and empowered to create something really special with us during your shoot.
Our packages are all-inclusive. That means no surprises during or after your session. Makeup services, wardrobe styling, basic retouching, a private online proof gallery, a digital download of all your full-size images - these are all included in the price. We want you to have it all, and know what it all costs before you walk in the door.
OUR studio
Our studio is located in our artist loft in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Come relax and make yourself at home. We want you to enjoy it here as much as we do. We shoot on several different background colors in the studio and utilize natural-looking studio lighting to achieve beautiful but accurate results that look and feel like you.
We like wine. We think you might too.
We'll always have some on hand, and you are welcome to a complimentary glass between shots.
It'll do wonders for that little glint in your eye.

about us
We're Jovani Demetrie and Anastasia Lange. Long story short: We met, fell in love and traveled around the world together for a few years, taking beautiful photos and hatching a plan to join forces as photographer and stylist to create a new kind of photography company for artists and professionals in New York City. We officially launched J. Demetrie Photography in 2014 and have been shooting in NYC ever since. Oh, and along the way we found time to get married, adopt an adorable little rescue pup and continue our love of travel which has now taken us to over 70 countries.
We work as a team, two sets of eyes to monitor every detail of the shots we take. Think about it, no photographer would ever shoot the cover of Vanity Fair without a stylist. Why should you settle for less? All this attention to detail does lead to one problem though - a whole lot of usable shots. Our clients are always telling us that they have trouble narrowing down their options. If you run into this problem we are always happy to help you choose.
Jovani is here to make certain that you feel relaxed, engaged and seen on the other side of his camera. As a portrait photographer he has captured over 1,000 artists in NYC. He also has a deep love of travel and lifestyle photography which has taken him all over the world.

We have a little rescue pup named Maximus. He takes his job as our Studio Assistant very seriously and is on hand at every shoot for any doggie cuddles you might be craving. He likes long walks, chewing up stuffed animals and posing on camera with all the new friends he makes in our studio.

Anastasia will help to design every aspect of your style on camera. We’ll start with Wardrobe and Backgrounds and then finish with Full Makeup Application and Hair Touch-ups to make sure your shots indicate who you are and what makes you unique in what you do. As an Eco Makeup Artist, she uses only the finest in eco-chic cosmetics that are vegan, cruelty-free and free of any harsh toxins.
